The INIT supported and collaborated with the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore Campus and few other partner intuitions in convening the 6th International Symposium on Biomedical Materials: Synergizing Partnerships on December 14 – 16, 2017. The Symposium aimed at developing synergy between identified stakeholders in Pakistan and beyond, facilitating industry scientists, promoting clinician linkages/interdisciplinary research in biomedical materials, strengthening involvement of public and private sector in biomedical materials research & development, adopting bio and research ethics protocols, developing scientist/industrial and clinician sensitivity to regulatory affairs & ethics, facilitating public engagement and knowledge dissemination, and developing route maps for spinning off science & technology based companies in Pakistan.
Collaborating Partner:
- COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore campus;
- Inter Islamic Network on Information Technology (INIT), Islamabad;
- The University of Sheffield, UK; and
- Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, UK.
Participating Countries:
- Islamic Republic of Pakistan;
- New Zealand;
- Ukraine; and
- United Kingdom.
Participants: Around 300 Clinicians and Researchers from above given 4 countries participated in the symposium.
